Hamas’s Masquerade
How terrorists pose as journalists, doctors, and civilians to deceive the world and weaponize compassion
Since when does simply putting on a vest labeled “Press” and holding a microphone make someone a journalist?
And this immediately leads to another question: does a journalist who takes an active part in terrorist activity or is a member of a terrorist organization automatically receive immunity from prosecution and cease to be a legitimate military target?
The hysteria stirred up on social media — and picked up by major media outlets — over the deaths of “journalists” in Gaza is completely unhealthy and misleads the masses, who lack the time or means to look deeper than a surface reading. Many people blindly trust the judgment of influential publications and form their opinions based on ready-made conclusions presented as the only correct verdict.
But veiled propaganda does not stop being propaganda just because it’s served under a different sauce.
This is how Hamas terrorists, draped in press credentials, suddenly become “brave journalists” cruelly killed in the course of military action. Or how accredited Al Jazeera journalists taking part in terrorist activity suddenly stop being terrorists. See the irony?
We are witnessing a substitution of concepts, the layering of filters that hide the truth — or worse, distort it beyond recognition — with one goal: to put Israel in the crosshairs, frame it for violations of international law, and create pressure that forces it to halt military action on terms favorable to Hamas.
It may be worth looking back and remembering that terrorists have long used similar tactics — hiding in plain sight as UNRWA staff, as ambulance paramedics, or even under UN insignia. All of them, under this cover, pursued the same goal: to mislead the global public into condemning Israel, and — once Shin Bet exposed who they really were and the IDF eliminated the threat — still be portrayed as “civilians,” “journalists,” or “doctors.”
Hamas continues this masquerade, and yet somehow everyone keeps falling for it. Each time it’s a new disguise, but the same old methods — which keep working like clockwork. Propaganda has not weakened, and what’s most astonishing is that the Western world helps terrorists in this, firmly believing it’s on the “right side.”
Take just a couple of fresh examples: the blatant one-sided UEFA banners at the Super Cup opening, or the refusal to screen a film about October 7th at the Toronto Film Festival because part of the footage was shot by terrorists — and since permission from the copyright holder, Hamas, was not obtained, the film was banned.
Do you see the absurdity? Atrocities filmed by Hamas — documenting its crimes against humanity and spreading them online — can’t be shown without the terrorists’ consent? Where is the world headed? Who is it protecting? I’m not sure anyone could answer those rhetorical questions.
Hamas is playing with you like children, exploiting your trust and compassion, and steering them exactly where it wants. If you haven’t yet seen how this works, Hamas back in 2014 released a video laying out 11 key points for Gaza residents to manipulate you. Open your eyes while you still can!
So ask yourself — why are so many Western leaders so invested in making sure Israel does not achieve its war aims and allows the most brutal terrorist organization to survive and stay in power? Will that bring peace to the Middle East? Will terrorists come to their senses, place human values at the forefront, repent, and become a model for future generations?
Wake up — they have already become a model, but of cruelty and barbarism. Ask yourself, and answer honestly — would you trust them with your fate?
All your posts are clear, logically consistent and well-expressed. They appeal to facts not prejudice. This is obvious to anyone still capable of cognitive functioning. Yet the "red-pilled" people decrying the UN for its medical tyranny during Covid and its totalitarian push for Digital IDs switch to sycophantic applause when it comes to the UN's anti-Israeli stance on Gaza. The very same people who have been calling Greta Thunberg a shill for climate change heartily endorse her "humanitarianism" when it comes to Gaza. This is more than cognitive dissonance. It is as though "liberal" Westerners have split brains operating robotically according to extraneous input algorithms as opposed to reflective thinking. It is as though they are ushering in their own demise by abandoning genuine thought and replacing it with ready-made sentimentality. "Free Gaza" is Koolaid. And we know where that led to. Not everyone, however, is brain dead yet. Sane people are more resistant to propaganda. They retain the use of logic and reason as well as ethics and morality.
